Charlie was born in Elkin, NC and raised outside of Dobson, NC. He graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1978. Charlie married Marjorie in 1981 and they have two children: Emily and Tyler. Charlie has served as an Elder since 2002, and his primary areas of involvement have been with Life Groups and Missions.
