Steve was born in Oceanside, California on the Marine base (his father was overseas just off the Korean coast). He received an A.A. degree in 1972 from York College and his B.A. degree from Harding University in 1974. He met Darlita who also attended Harding and they have been married since 1977. Steve and Darlita have two daughters, Stacey and Jennifer, and two grandchildren. Steve is a commercial insurance underwriter for The Hartford Financial Services Group and has been with them since 1980. Steve has been an Elder since 2000, participating in the music ministry where he sings with the Praise Team. Steve currently serves as the Chairman of the Elders.
